Abdallah Mohammed was jailed at 15 years for allegedly stealing GHC10 from someone.
Abdallah Mohammed, the junior high school graduate who was handed a 25-year jail term for a missing GHC10 has received a huge boost in life following his release from jail.
In a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on myjoyonline.com, Abdallah Mohammed is said to have been presented with GHC2,000, a barbering shop job, and an apartment.
Abdallah Mohammed, now 27 years, said in an exclusive interview with Adom FM that he served 11 years and two months at the Kumasi Central Prison after he was wrongly accused of stealing GHC10.
He has also received a one-bedroom apartment and was given the opportunity to become a professional barber by working in a barbershop. Nurudeen Mohammed, the father of Abdallah, has thanked those who donated to help his son find a footing in life after he was freed of the crime he still maintains he never committed “I am happy he has been released. If you don’t have the strength and someone helps, you should be happy. We never thought it would get to him being jailed,” he said.
Mr Mohammed also thanked all those who contributed but want to remain anonymous over their support. The freed young man's dad said their act of kindness has uplifted his spirit to do something great with his life and improve his standard of living.
“I am grateful for being a benefactor of their kindness. God bless them for helping me out. Little by little, I am praying to get more than this”, he said after the presentation was made to him.
